mind block

i tried to put some thoughts down in my sketchpad, but nothing is really coming to mind. i tried closing my eyes to sleep, but it just didnt work.
so i decided to browse the web for some inspiration. i found this gif file at cdryan.com.
i guess what i am trying to get at is the fact that this entire quarter art and howard have been pushing the idea of designing from the inside out and finding what functions need to be catered to by analyzing the scenarios that could be happening in a given space. but art really disappointed me the other day when he started grabbing scrap pieces of cardboard and putting them together telling me to create form. all those great talks he gave me, that gave me inspiration and knowledge, felt like they were thrown right out the window after he tried convincing me to create form that would interact with the surrounding environment.
maybe what i need to realize is that form and function will eventually both need to be taken care of. if one decides to approach a building by giving it form, in the end the form will need to be altered to include function and vice versa.
i just need to find some balance. i just feel so unprepared for this upcoming project.
-weak site analysis
-the lack of understanding of materials
-little to no guidance/ feedback from profesors.
i just hope i can pull this one together.
