city lights

this is the pen i got from the dreyers booth at the job fair
after turning in my as builts, i wasnt feeling class anymore, so i ended up skipping my polisci lecture. came back to the apartment and took a two hour nap that left me more tired than i was before the nap. after that headed to farmers market with benedicto and rex and met up alex. we walked around and after about 10 minutes of the small town feel, i was missing the city. seeing the small street vendors making roasted corn, and farmers selling their fresh produce was just making me think about the environment i was in. it made me really miss the sky scape and the city lights that los angeles had to offer. but the idea of going back home to los angeles, or home, felt so mundane. so that thought led to the conclusion that this weekend i want to go to san fransisco. i want to head up because, since ive moved to san luis obispo, i have never headed north. every oportunity i had to leave slo in the past year, i would just head south. so hopefully tomorrow i can change that. well, getting back to the farmers market. as we were walked back to our bikes, some guys from hip hop congress came and talked to us, and i found out that blue scholars might be performing at our school! but after that we headed to quicklys and i got a lychee strawberry slush. we headed back to the apartment, hung out for a bit and headed over to michelles place to get some homemade pho. it was the first time i ever ate pho not from a restaurant, and boy was it good. i had two bowls, and i felt bad, but thanks michelle! after digesting, worked out with the roomies. and now, hopefully, i can do my two arce problems.

ps. strawberry cheesecake ice cream from rite aid is the way to go

edit:
design guidelines. i just had a brief conversation with art chapman, my studio professor. ive come to the realization that architectural design has nothing to do with you, but what others want it to be. architecture differs from the arts because arts, are for the most part selfish. designs in the field of architecture has nothing to do with what you want it to be or how you want it to look. It has nothing to do with how you feel or how you see things. the hardest thing to achieve in architectural design is selflessness, the capability of removing yourself from the scenario of "what is there" and "what is to be." architecture is not a profession of extruding objects that ressemble gehry, or making things look a certain way. the reality is if that is what you precieve architecture to be, you are better off studying the field of art. i guess, until now, i never thought about it that way. the way i see it, architecture is being able to put yourself in the situation of others, and seeing what they want, then finding out what the building wants to be, not what you want to make of it. and just maybe, you might pull out something worthy of azure.
