there is an enthrallment about the mind going blank; all thoughts focused on what lies ahead. the best feeling in the world is pausing for a few moments; heart beating fast, deep breaths, the rustling of the trees, the sweat gently trickling down the spine, the cold air wrapping around your head. i had this feeling today, and more, when i was up at felsman loop and was frightened by a snake which lead me to turn around and encounter a deer. the feelings of pausing for a few moments, as i was face to face with a deer, lead me to question, was this deer frightened to see me, or was he just as fascinated as i was that the other did not seem afraid.
i hope on my next adventure i could have a conversation with this deer, as we are no longer acquaintances, but friends.
